New Acrylic Painting - "Pink and Black Junk"

New Mural at the Gouden Leeuw, Amsterdam  I've just finished a new mural at the Gouden Leeuw in Amsterdam (and it's my first mural since moving to The Netherlands...) It's a doorway mural in a bedroom that wraps the edge of the door and extends over to an adjacent door panel. The owner of the room is from South Africa and wanted some bold colours in the mural to remind him of home... Hope you enjoy this post - I've also included some photos of the work-in-progress at the bottom of the page (you can also see the work-in-progress photos on my Facebook and Pinterest pages...)  The painting is extended to wrap around the edge so that some of the colours can be seen from outside the room.  I tried to get it so the colours and the patterns "jump" over from one side of the door to the other, whilst at the same time linking the 2 panels of the door together.  The edges of the door have been painted to make it look as though the shapes are 3-dimensional blocks that are built into the door - a bit like a moving 3-d jigsaw.  I painted about 1/3 of the outside of the door to create a nice teaser effect as you're walking into the room...  Some more detailing on the edge of the door...
